About

A career about getting people and systems to move together.

I started in community engagement — the work of getting people and institutions to move in the same direction. I have spent the years since in delivery: clinical and patient-administration systems, university-wide platform change, engineering operations for a health-technology scale-up, and large-scale workforce and research programmes.

The through-line is the same everywhere. The technology is rarely the hard part; the work around it is. Alongside the delivery work I research how AI is governed and assured in clinical settings, and I lecture in digital health.

Master of Research — AI governance in healthcare, Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University Sessional Lecturer — Digital Health Trends, La Trobe University Certificate in Engagement and Stakeholder Management — IAP2, 2019 Company Directors Course (Healthcare) — Australian Institute of Company Directors / Australian Institute of Health Executives, commencing October 2026 (leading to GAICD and GAIHE) MIT — Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation (current) Based in regional Victoria · working across Australia

Questions

The short answers.

What does Tamara Marwood do?

I'm an independent adviser and interim leader for health organisations, working through TJ Marwood Pty Ltd. I turn strategy into delivered change — portfolio governance and roadmaps, programme turnaround and recovery, AI assurance and governance in clinical settings, and interim delivery leadership.

Who do you work with?

Public and private health services, Primary Health Networks and Local Health Districts, government health and workforce bodies, tertiary and research institutes, and the health-technology companies and vendors building for them — across Australia.

What's your background in AI governance?

A Master of Research at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University, on how a NSW Local Health District applied the NSW AI Assurance Framework to a clinical AI device, analysed through the SEIPS work-systems model. I presented the findings at the AIDH AI Care conference in 2025, with an article in revision for the Australian Health Review, and I am completing MIT's Applied Agentic AI for Organizational Transformation.

How do I engage you?

Three ways: an advisory retainer (a set number of days each month), a fixed-scope project (four to twelve weeks, priced to scope), or interim leadership (three to nine months on a day rate). Email me for a first conversation and a fixed quote.
